MORTON Robert Morton passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 5, two weeks away from his 91st birthday, after a short illness, having spent his last day with his family, the Times crossword and looking forward to seeing his grandchildren the following morning. From a childhood in Risca, South Wales, through active service in the RAF to Hertfordshire District Tax Inspector and happy retirement, he was a man who loved life and faced whatever it brought with strength, honour, wisdom and humour. Loving and beloved of his dear wife Mary, devoted dad to children David, Anne and Andrew, as well as to daughter-in-law Lyn and son-in-law Ian, adored by grandchildren Alice, Edward, Katie, Rob and Tom. Gone but not forgotten by great granddaughter Indy. What you achieve in life echoes down through history. Funeral on Thursday, November 24, 11am at St Marys Church, Welwyn.
