BECK John Austin Beck, former teacher at Mater Dei School, died peacefully on March 1, aged 85. Dearly loved husband of Jean, father ot Joanna, Antonia, James and Eleanor, father-in-law of Stephanie and Paul, grandfather of Philippa, Lucy, Charlie and Katharine, teacher to hundreds of pupils and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by us all. Austin was active fro many years in local charities including the St Vincent de Paul Society and until his final illness was a regular visitor to the elderly and infirm. He was a gentle, kind and caring man whose life was guided by his strong Christian beliefs. Our thanks to Dr Turner and Moors Walk Surgery, Caremark and Monread Lodge nursing Home. Funeral to take place on Friday, March 19, 11am at St Bonaventures Church, Parkway, followed by cremation at Harwood Park. Family flowers only.
