A family charity day will be held at Hatfield Hyde Cricket Club next month to raise money for teenagers in need.

The event takes place at the club in Beehive Lane on Sunday, August 25.

Six-a-side cricket will start at around 10am, with other activities starting from midday including a bouncy castle, children's rides, hook-a-duck and a children's tombola with more than 90 prizes.

Visitors can enjoy a barbecue from 2pm, and there will also be cocktails on offer at the bar, a bottle raffle and stalls selling cupcakes and makeup.

An auction will take place at 5pm, with items including a one-night stay at Indigo Hotel in Manchester with a £500 meal voucher for Maya, afternoon tea for two at the Ritz, a one-night stay at Andaz Hotel in London and £200 meal voucher for NoMad Hotel and a two-night stay in the Lake District.

There will be a DJ and a disco from 6.30pm.

A cricket club spokesperson said: "It is going to be a fantastic day for all families welcome in our area."

All proceeds from the event will be split 50/50 between the Oli Mills Foundation - which supports Teenage Cancer Trust - and teenage mental health charity Papyrus.
