Cats Protection Welwyn, Hatfield & District is seeking a home for a senior cat who has been homeless for more than a year.

Bridget, who is 13 years old, has been in the charity's care since May 2023, after her elderly owner was no longer able to take care of her.

She is looking for an owner who is happy to take a hands-off approach, with no expectation that she will want to be petted or handled.

Due to her anxiety, Bridget needs unlimited run of a pet and child-free house where she can hide, as well as a large garden for her to explore.

Caroline Howden, coordinator of the team at Welwyn, Hatfield & District, said: "While Bridget has an independent personality and will likely never want a great deal of attention, this shouldn’t detract from her being a beautiful cat that deserves to find a new home where she can live out her retirement.

"While she may not be the most affectionate of pets, she could become the perfect housemate for the right person, and after so long in care we are really pinning our hopes on finding her the right forever family."

Bridget is fully neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and her new owner will be supported with six months of free behaviour advice.
