Britpop legends Oasis have announced their first UK shows in 16 years for the summer of 2025 — but a return to Knebworth isn't among them.
After much speculation over the weekend, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher finally confirmed the band's long-awaited comeback this morning (Tuesday).
Oasis will hit Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in the summer of 2025 as part of the domestic leg of their OASIS LIVE 25 world tour.
In announcing the shows on social media, in a nod to their Knebworth 1996 gigs when they said "This is history", Oasis said: "This is it, this is happening”.
The series of 2025 dates includes four nights at Wembley Stadium so far, but missing is a return to Knebworth Park.
Oasis famously played two concerts at the Hertfordshire stately home on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, 1996.
Tickets for those era-defining gigs cost £22.50. Next summer's reunion shows will cost a lot more than that when tickets go on sale this Saturday.
Oasis commented: “The guns have fallen silent.
The stars have aligned.
The great wait is over.
Come see.
It will not be televised.”

Tickets for the UK dates go on sale from 9am on Saturday, August 31 and will be available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk, www.gigsandtours.com and www.seetickets.com.
Dublin tickets will be available from 8am that same day from www.ticketmaster.ie.
Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.
In 2021, Oasis Knebworth 1996, a live album and a documentary film of those seminal 1996 shows, were released.
Mancunian rocker Liam Gallagher made a triumphant return to Knebworth Park in June 2022, playing two sold-out solo gigs there.
A live album, Liam Gallagher: Knebworth 22, was subsequently released last year, hitting top spot in the UK album charts.
Oasis frontman Liam has this year celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of the band’s all-conquering and massively influential debut album with a ‘Definitely Maybe 30 Years’ tour.
He headlined Reading and Leeds Festival over the weekend, performing tracks such as Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Live Forever, Supersonic and Cigarettes & Alcohol.
During Liam's headline set at Reading on Sunday evening, he dedicated the Oasis track Half The World Away to his brother Noel.
At the end of the gig, a clip teasing Tuesday’s date was shown on the stage’s main screens.
The same short clip of a sign in the style of the Oasis logo was shared to both Liam and Noel's Instagram accounts on Sunday night, as well as on the official Oasis page.
The black sign had the date “27.08.24” written in the middle before it flickered and changed to read “8am”.
Next year marks the 30th anniversary of second Oasis album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which has sold more than five million copies in the UK.
A special edition 30th anniversary release of the group's iconic debut album Definitely Maybe is out this Friday.
The deluxe editions of Definitely Maybe including previously unheard and abandoned versions from the original recording session at Monnow Valley Studios and outtakes from the definitive album sessions at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall, both recently mixed by Noel for the first time.
In August 1994, Definitely Maybe’s original release marked a critical moment in British youth culture and the record gatecrashed the Official UK Album Charts at No.1, becoming the fastest selling debut album ever at the time.
Definitely Maybe (30th Anniversary) Deluxe Edition formats are released on August 30, 2024. It's available to pre-order now on Limited Edition Deluxe 4LP and Deluxe 2CD formats, plus exclusive coloured vinyl formats, cassette and digitally, with all formats including the 2014 remastered version of the album.
Fans were surprised to hear Noel pay Liam a string of compliments in an interview released last week with music journalist John Robb at Manchester’s Sifters Records in honour of the album’s 30th anniversary.
Reflecting on Liam’s performance on a number of their hits, Noel said: “It’s the delivery or the tone of his voice and the attitude.
“I don’t have the same attitude as him.”
He also jokingly compared Liam’s voice to “10 shots of tequila on a Friday night” and his as “half a Guinness on a Tuesday”.
Formed in 1991, the Manchester rock band rose to fame with hits like Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, Roll With It, Some Might Say, and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
They went on to become arguably one of the biggest bands in British music history before their acrimonious break-up in 2009.
The brothers went on to have successful separate careers, with Noel fronting the group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
