A planning application for a takeaway food business in Welwyn Garden City has been refused.
The plans, submitted by Mr S Mohmand, propose a change of use for Unit 25 in Peartree Farm from a B2 light industrial unit to Class E hot food preparation and delivery business.
The installation of kitchen, office and delivery area were included as part of the plans, but little was known about the proposed business.
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council rejected the application on September 2, citing a number of reasons.
"The proposal would result in the loss of a B2 unit located within a designated employment area," the decision notices reads.
"Furthermore, the proposed development would fail to provide adequate levels of car parking or sufficiently demonstrate there would be no impact on the local transport infrastructure."
Unit 25 in Peartree Farm is currently occupied by SJT Flooring.
The applicant was working alongside Welwyn Garden City-based architects Home Extension Designs in an effort to get the planning application approved, and they will now have the chance to appeal.
