A life-saving defibrillator has been installed outside a parade of shops in Marsden Road, Welwyn Garden City.
Mac Mccaig, who initiated the installation, said: "Someone arranged a tribute band at the local pub to raise money for a defibrillator in another area in Welwyn Hatfield.
"After the event I spoke to the person concerned to say I was interested in donating some money to get another one.
"It all happened very quickly and it was installed at Handside shops where it is now up and running. If needed I would help again in the future."
Mac approached Arline Hursey from Defibrillators in Public Places charitable trust (DiPPs), who organised the installation.
She said: "It has been fantastic to see the community come together to help us install this public access defibrillator.
"I asked the manager of the shop if he would be happy for this to go ahead and he was very supportive.
