A day care centre in Cuffley enjoyed a visit from a special type of police dog.
Doris and her owner Julie paid a visit to the centre with local PCSOs Jo Woods and Carl Donovan.
Shih Tzu cross Doris is from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s RAPPAW scheme.
The initiative sees trained dog owners and their pet pooches support vulnerable victims and witnesses.
They also provide wellbeing support to officers and staff within the force.
PCSO Jo Woods, from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “RAPPAW is an invaluable service, enabling officers, through pet therapy, to build trust with vulnerable victims and witnesses, including children and the elderly.
“We were thrilled to be able to introduce Doris to everyone at the centre and I’d like to say thank you to her owner Julie for bringing her along.
"Doris certainly put a smile on everybody’s faces!”
The visit took place on Monday, September 23.
