Two teenagers have been arrested following an affray in Welwyn Garden City.

The incident happened inside The Howard Centre and on Stonehills at around 8pm on Thursday, October 17.

A man aged in his 40s was reportedly followed and assaulted by a group of teenagers who were unknown to him.

Another man, aged in his 30s, had his bike pushed over, causing damage.

Following enquiries, two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

An 18-year-old man from Luton has been arrested on suspicion of affray, assault and criminal damage, and a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault, affray, assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage, theft and assault with intent to resist arrest.

Both have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Mathew Wheeler, who is investigating, said: "Our investigation is continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

"I believe there were numerous witnesses in the area at the time, and I would ask them to please contact police if they haven’t yet done so.
