A star of The Apprentice: You’re Fired and The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice brings his new comedy show to St Albans this week.
You can see comedian Hal Cruttenden’s Chubster tour at The Alban Arena on Wednesday, November 21 at 8pm.
Hal’s literally filled our screens recently on TV shows such as Have I Got News For You, The Apprentice: You’re Fired, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, and Live at The Apollo.
As for the name of his current tour, his daughters chose the title.
Rather touchingly, he asked his teenage daughters what title would best sum him up. They said ‘Chubster’.
Hal’s now back on the 5:2 diet and on-stage in a hilarious show that not only touches on his usual moans about being a middle-aged, middle class father of fat-shaming teenagers, but also introduces us to new problems like his struggles with IQ tests, political zealots and the trauma of supporting the England rugby team.
Hal said: “I’m not actually that sociable naturally but I love chatting to my comedy fans because we’ve immediately got something in common. We both love me!”
As well as being one of the top stand-up comedians working in the UK today, Hal is a highly accomplished writer and actor.
He has made several appearances on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You and The Royal Variety Performance on ITV, as well as his regular guest spots on shows such as Mock the Week, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice and The Apprentice: You’re Fired.
On the radio, the second series of his sitcom Hal, co-written with Dominic Holland, was recently broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
He is a three-time Chortle Award nominee and was nominated for the Perrier Newcomer Award back in 2002.
Tickets to see him in St Albans cost £18.
