A bus is currently on fire on the northbound carriageway of the A1(M) at junction 7 (Stevenage).
Both the fire service and police received a number of calls from members of the public at 9.21am.
Police reported there was “quite a lot of smoke” coming from the single decker white bus.
It is unknown at this stage if there were any passengers on board at the time.
Herts fire has two crews at the scene.
The bus is between the exit and entry sliproads of junction 7 so the Police and highways agency are using the junction to avoid the problem.
