From Brownies to veterans, hundreds showed their respect at Remembrance Services all over Welwyn Hatfield and Potters Bar, honouring 104 years since the guns fell silent after World War I.
A ceremony was held at Hatfield Hyde in Welwyn Garden City, with the procession leaving St Mary Magdalene Church in Hollybush Lane at 2.50pm, with the Remembrance service beginning at the war memorial at 3pm.
In Welwyn Garden City, the parade assembled at The Campus at 10.30am, with the service commencing at The Howardsgate Memorial at 10.50am.
In Hatfield, a was service held in the Memorial Garden, with the parade starting at the Red Lion on the Great North Road at 10.45am. To mark Armistice Day, an 11am service at the Hatfield Park War Cemetery took place.
Jonah Anthony, the Town Clerk at Hatfield Town Council Welwyn Garden City, was also in attendance on the day.
The Remembrance Sunday service at Harmer Green War Memorial in Digswell was conducted by Rev'd Dr Rob Marshall, Rev'd Sue Stilwell, both from the Anglican Parish of Digswell, and Rev'd Rosemary Mutopo the Methodist Minister for Welwyn Hatfield.
The service was attended by 50 residents and wreaths were laid at the memorial by David Cox from Welwyn Parish Council, Irene Ephgrave from Digswell Village Church and children from St Johns School.
Approximately 400 people attended Remembrance Sunday services that took place in Potters Bar, held by Hertsmere Borough Council on Sunday, November 13. Cllr Peter Rutledge, represented the Mayor of Hertsmere, accompanied by Cllr Jane West.
The Potters Bar Branch of Royal British Legion said: "We are pleased to hear that Members of our community thought it was ‘a lovely service’ and thank Chris Cook for videoing and posting on Facebook ‘Potters Bar Community Group’, which is especially poignant for those who were unable to attend."
