We are all lucky enough to call Hatfield our home, but did you know we share the same town names with multiple other places around the world?

They might even have luscious fields to stroll through or a two-campus university to enjoy.

1. Hatfield, Wisconsin, USA

This resort town is nestled right outside the gorgeous Black River State Forest in east central Wisconsin. 

The community claims to host a population of 5,000 in the summer and 50 in the winter.

Founded in 1836, the city was supported in the 19th century by the logging and lumber industry, as the Black River was a primary avenue for delivery of logs from central Wisconsin to the Mississippi River valley.

2. Hatfield, Harare, Zimbabwe

Hatfield of Harare is a residential suburb laid out in 1920.

It was named after the ancestral home of the Marquess of Salisbury.

The district was first settled on by Robert Snodgrass and David Mitchell, two transport riders who made a fortune selling whisky to newly arrived settlers in 1891. 

3. Hatfield, Pretoria, South Africa

Hatfield lies in the heart of Pretoria, just outside the city centre between Arcadia and Lynnwood.

It is a tranquil neighbourhood in the suburbs, sprawled with upmarket homes and is located by a university and the Loftus Versfeld stadium, which underwent a multi-million-rand facelift to prepare it for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

4. Hatfield, Jamaica

Hatfield is a place in Jamaica about 78 km west of Kingston, the country's capital city. 

It is a tropical area and a quaint summer holiday destination.

Hatfield and its nearby areas host multiple holiday activities, national parks, museums, organisations and more.

5. Hatfield, Saskatchewan, Canada

Hatfield was founded in 1907 and is featured in a book titled Saskatchewan Ghost Towns by Frank Moore.

It wasn’t until 1940 that a school, teacherage, community hall and a small residence were constructed.

By 1950, the residents of Hatfield began moving away.

6. Hatfield, New South Wales, Australia

Hatfield is a small New South Wales Rural Location within the local government area of Balranald, it is located approximately 689kms from the capital Sydney.

7. Hatfield, California-Oregon, USA

Hatfield is an unincorporated community in both Siskiyou County, California, and Klamath County, Oregon.

The 60-mile Lost River also runs through Hatfield. It begins and ends in a closed basin in northern California and southern Oregon in the United States.
