A new state-of-the art car park has opened at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City.
The ground floor of the new Campus West car park opened today (April 14).
Located next door to the Campus West independent cinema and entertainment complex, it is fully accessible and has 239 pay and display spaces.
These include:
- 27 disabled badge holder bays
- 21 parent and child marked bays
- 12 electric charging bays (two of which are for disabled badge holders)
To encourage green travel, there is also a large bicycle rack for cyclists which can hold up to 92 bicycles.
The car park, which is managed by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (WHBC), is well lit and has 24 CCTV cameras and three ANPR cameras to ensure the safety of all of its users.
Information on pricing, including season tickets, can be found on the WHBC website at www.welhat.gov.uk
The new car park has pay and display machines that are contactless as well as machines that accept cash.
The upper deck of the new car park is undergoing final checks before it will be ready for use this summer.
When both floors are open, the new car park will offer a total of 468 spaces, compared to the 329 spaces in the old car park.
