Roads and homes in Welwyn Hatfield have been flooded following major downpour during thunderstorms yesterday (May 9).
Affected areas include Knightsfield Road in Welwyn Garden City, School Lane and Broomfield Road in Welwyn, and Great North Road near Welwyn.
Hertfordshire police said they had experienced "a high volume of 999 emergency calls involving cars being stuck in flooded roads following the downpour".

A police spokesperson added: "Please try and find alternative routes and do not try and drive through large, flooded areas or roads.

"We need to be able to respond to emergencies and will not be able to rescue drivers from their vehicles."
