Kidney transplant recipient and University of Hertfordshire staff member, Andrew Taylor, has won silver at the World Transplant games along with his badminton doubles partner, Vincent Mayne.
The 57-year-old bagged the medal in the over 50s category, representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The competition took place in Australia, which Andrew said was "a week of celebration, competition, some tears and a lot of smiles".
The transplant survivor said: "It was an amazing, powerful, uplifting, emotional experience.

"From the reflective Remembrance Service, to the exciting opening ceremony in the 60,000 capacity Optus Stadium, to competing with athletes from all over the world, I met people with incredible stories of strength in adversity, generosity, resilience and recovery.
"Most importantly, it was a privilege to honour the memory of my donor. Their gifts transformed my life."

Andrew, an academic advisor at the university, added: "I am so grateful to the support of the University of Hertfordshire in helping with my training for the games.
"I’m now looking forward to and training for the British Transplant Games in Coventry in July and the next World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany in 2025.
"It’s important to give yourself a goal – maybe a gold medal next time."
