Motorists faced rush hour delays this morning after the M25 was closed following two separate incidents at junctions 23 and 24, close to Potters Bar.
First, Herts police were called at around 6.12am today (Thursday, July 27) to reports of a concern for welfare incident, and put in place road closures between junctions 23 and 24.
The ambulance service also attended, and the woman involved was brought to safety.
Then, at around 6.40am, Herts police were called to a road traffic collision, involving two vehicles at junction 24.
A full road closure was put in place while the scene was attended by police officers, the ambulance service, and National Highways.
Two people involved suffered "slight injuries", according to a Herts police spokesperson.
Traffic was temporarily diverted up and over junction 24 via the slip roads, with motorists warned to expect delays of at least an hour.
By 8am, the clockwise lanes had reopened, with most anti-clockwise lanes reopening shortly after. Lane four remained closed until around 9am for recovery of at least one vehicle.
