Residents, family and volunteers at Mayfair Lodge care home in Potters Bar have celebrated the opening of a new tea room.
On Sunday, July 23, The Mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor Chris Myers, performed an opening ceremony at the home to officially open the new facility.
Councillor Christian Gray also came along for an afternoon of tea and cake to celebrate the grand opening.
The care home’s fundraising group Mayfair Lodge Fundraising Friends (MLFF) started the project to build the tea room back in 2019.
They wanted to create a space in the garden of the home for residents and their loved ones to enjoy tea, coffee and some delicious home-made cakes.
It has taken some time to complete, but is now up and running and has welcomed its first guests.
