A family-owned restaurant is set to replace Aqua in Welwyn, after relocating from London.
Roy Restaurant previously operated from a unit in Hampden Square, north London, but will now operate from 28 High Street in the village.
It will replace the popular Italian restaurant Aqua, which closed earlier this month.
Owned by Mark and Alison Jones, Roy's opened in January 2020 and has earned rave reviews, rated 4.8 out of five stars on Google, and 4.5 on TripAdvisor.
The reason behind the restaurant's move is a sentimental one, as revealed in a post on their Facebook page.
Named after Alison's father, Roy opened a successful restaurant of his own alongside wife Kathy in Winchmore Hill, London. Alison and Mark decided to follow in his footsteps and pay tribute to him.

And the family tradition has continued to the next generation, with Roy's grandson Dan the restaurant's head chef.
"Roy and his wife, Kathy, later retired and moved to Welwyn, where they enjoyed their time with family and friends, and were frequent lunchtime guests at Aqua Restuarant, which is more of a reason why we chose the location," read the post.
"Some of the dishes on the menu were great favourites of the family and have been named after them. Try out Roy's Minestrone Soup, or even our tasty Kathy's Tagliatelle.
"We all hope you will enjoy our restaurant in Welwyn when we open."
No official opening date has been confirmed yet, with "legal work" delaying the opening, but there are hopes that Roy's will welcome customers by mid-August.
As for the food, Roy's serves a range of tasty dishes, including pasta, pizza, seafood, steaks, a set lunch menu, specials and a vast selection of drinks.
"At Roy’s Restaurant we combine delicious flavours with impressive presentation, creating dishes that we are immensely proud of," their website states.
"We strive to serve delicious food with the finest and freshest ingredients, that’s why we work closely with British suppliers to ensure all produce is up to our standards.
"All of our produce comes from the finest sources located at Billingsgate, New Covent Garden and Smithfield Markets – delivered daily."
