Singers are invited to join Singing For Pleasure choir (SFP) in Welwyn Garden City, which starts its new term this month.
SFP was started by Glynis Rogers and her husband Cliff in 1980, and the group will celebrate its 43rd birthday in November.
To date, the choir has raised more than £200,000 for local and national charities, and in the early 2000s it was twinned with a choir in Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
Glynis said: "Unfortunately, my husband passed away in November 2014. I had to make a decision, do I carry on or call it a day?
"I carried on as this is my husband’s legacy. I am training our youngest son, Andrew, to take over from me when the time is right (It isn’t yet!)."

Along with many choirs in the area, SPF took a hit to its membership during Covid.
Glynis said: "I did keep our rehearsal night going on Zoom, but I appreciate it's not the same as singing with all your friends!
"I’m so very lucky to have a fabulous accompanist in Steve Povey and a wonderful, warm, friendly choir to be with."
While SPF is not a church choir, rehearsals take place at Howlands Baptist Church, and will start up again at 8pm on Friday, September 8.
