Six vehicles have been involved in a crash in the Hatfield tunnel, with two people taken to hospital.
The incident took place at around 1.25pm yesterday (December 26) on the A1(M)'s northbound carriageway.
Road closures were put in place at Junction 3 while two people were taken to hospital, where they remain at this time.
PC Mark Gardner said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for any witnesses to please get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area at the time and have a dash-cam fitted, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage to assist with our investigation.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience while we carried out investigations at the scene as the road remained closed for some time.”

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service added: "Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer vehicle were called to the A1 at Hatfield on December 26 following reports of a road traffic collision.
"Two patients were transported to Lister Hospital for further assessment and care."
