A motorist has died after a car overturned on the A1(M) near Hatfield this morning.
Police were called to a collision between Junction 1 for South Mimms and Junction 2 for Welham Green, on the northbound carriageway, at 6.33am today (Monday, January 22).
Emergency services attended the scene, where a Renault Megane was found to have overturned.
Sadly, the driver and the sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Police were called at 6.33am today to reports of a collision on the A1(M) between Junction 1 for South Mimms and Junction 2 for Welham Green, travelling northbound," said a Herts police spokesman.
"It was reported that a Renault Megane was on its side.
"Emergency services attended the scene and the carriageway was shut in both directions.
"Sadly, the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the collision. Anyone with information is asked to please call 101 quoting ISR 114 of 22 January."
