Plans have been submitted to build 73 new homes in Cuffley, which the developer hopes will provide a "sustainable and attractive extension" to the village.

The planning application, submitted by Stonebond Properties Limited, would see the new dwellings built in land the end of The Meadway.

The plans also include "landscaping, private and communal amenity space, vehicle parking, cycle, refuse and recycling storage and public open space".

"Stonebond are committed to consulting with local authorities, local parishes and residents to better understand the needs and wants of the local community and how they may be accommodated within the proposals," reads a planning and design statement.

"The proposals have evolved through a number of sketch layouts which explored a variety of options for the development of the site.

"Our vision is to provide a sustainable and attractive extension to Cuffley that responds to the local context and embraces and enhances its surroundings."

The development will also see a mixture of homes, with 14 one and two-bedroom flats, 12 two-bedroom, 31 three-bedroom, 12 four-bedroom and four five-bedroom homes.

47 of the 73 homes would be private ownership, while five would be shared ownership, eight affordable rent and 13 social rent.
