The symbolic get-together signified the call to build and create peace, and that the peace process cannot be neglected or taken for granted.
Valerie Skottowe, the chair of Welwyn Hatfield Inter-Faith, said: "Despite the bitterly cold wind last Sunday afternoon, our community gathered together to pray for world peace.
"This was an important opportunity to stand together in unity.

Handside ward councillor Michal Siewniak said: "Sometimes a simple action, spontaneous and symbolic event can speak a lot louder than words.
"Although difficult to achieve at times, unity in diversity is possible. Let’s continue to build dialogue, always, wherever possible.
"Let’s use our peace vigil as a vehicle to create a positive and lasting social change in our neighbourhoods."
