There is delight for a nursery in Hatfield after receiving an outstanding rating from Ofsted.
Birchwood Nursery School was inspected in February, with the education watchdog praising the leadership, high expectations, curriculum and support for children at the Birchway site.
"Leaders know that the school’s provision enables children to thrive. As a result, children are well prepared and ready for the next step in their education," the inspector added.
"Governors and school leaders are united in their pursuit of constant improvement. Working effectively with the wider school community, they have developed a clear vision and underpinning values. These inform all that they do as they move forwards together."

Headteacher Margaret Stocks expressed her pride following the rating, saying: "We are delighted to receive our fifth successive outstanding judgement.
"It is a privilege to be the headteacher of such an amazing team of hard working and dedicated staff, who go above and beyond on a daily basis to meet the needs of our children and provide bespoke experiences to enhance learning.
"We are all very proud of Birchwood Nursery and Preschool, and work closely with our families to ensure the best outcomes for the children."
