A planning application has been submitted to demolish a former Potters Bar school to make way for a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities site.
The plans, submitted by Hertfordshire County Council's Spatial Planning Unit, would see a block and two temporary classroom buildings formerly part of Sunny Bank Infants School, would be knocked down.
The site in Field View Road would then see a new 1,828sqm SEND school built.
Modified vehicle and pedestrian access, car parking, outdoor play areas, teaching areas and sports facilities, hard and soft landscaping and other associated development are also included in the plans.
Sunny Bank Infants School was earmarked for closure by Hertfordshire County Council in September 2006, to combat surplus pupil places in Potters Bar, before finally closing in 2008 after almost 50 years of teaching.
