A trial date has been set for a woman charged with murder in Welwyn Garden City.
Tuche Coskun, of Central Avenue, Enfield, has been charged with murder, one count of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
At 3am on Sunday, May 19, officers were called to a disturbance at an address in Linkfield, and despite best efforts by the emergency services, Gavin Hubbard, 42, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Coskun, 21, was arrested at the scene and charged on May 22.
A provisional date for Coskun's two-week trial has been set for October 28, 2024 at St Albans Crown Court. A plea hearing is due on August 8.
"We have specially trained officers supporting Gavin’s family at this most difficult time," said Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
"I’d like to thank members of the public who have already called us with information and would ask if anybody else has information that may be relevant to this investigation to please contact us.
"On behalf of Gavin’s family, I would like to politely request that they are given time to process this news privately and for people not to speculate on the circumstances."
Paying tribute to Mr Hubbard, his family said: "Gavin, the son of Roy and Val, brother of Trev, Tracy and Chris, a dad to Sophie, Jack and Carter and a grandad to three. He was also a loving uncle to many.
"Gav was loved by his family; he was loved by his friends, and he loved so many.
"Despite his troubles he was there for anyone who needed him. He was a wise, kind, funny and loyal man. He will be missed so so much.
"Rest in peace Gav, love you forever."
