The owner of a salon in Hatfield has expressed her pride after being recognised at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards.
The Glam Lodge, in Market Place, placed in the top 20 for the prestigious Best New Salon award, much to the delight of founder Misha Knight.
"I am so proud of this achievement," she said.
"As a small business owner, it is great to see that my dream businesses and amazing team have been recognised for all our hard work and commitment.
"We are always looking at ways to be part of the local community and ensure that our clients feel amazing."
Misha’s dream began at the age of 7, when she transformed her bedroom into a makeshift salon and charged her father £2 for a pedicure.
That dream became a reality when she opened The Glam Lodge, and she was keen to thank clients for their support of the business.
"To me, The Glam Lodge is more than just a beauty salon, it is a place where clients come to feel better about themselves in a safe and welcoming environment," Misha said.
"Our clients become an extended part of the team and we would not be where we are today without their continued loyalty and support."
