People were able to chat with police and community representatives at stalls and under gazebos while receiving vital crime prevention advice.

The day result in 100 properties being visited, 10 safe and well referrals being made, a smoke detector being fitted in a property and 10 flytips dealt with.

Furthermore, 15 new residents joined Herts Connected, the police's messaging system, and 30 surveys were submitted to help steer the project.

Welwyn Hatfield Chief Inspector Pete Frost said: "We have been working hard on this project and I am pleased the event was such a success.

"We are committed to making sure the local area is safe and it was great to be met with such enthusiasm from the public at our event."

He added: “I would like to remind residents to get in touch with any concerns about local crime or anti-social behaviour so that we can take action."
