Welwyn Garden City's Willow Foundation is set to launch a brand new fishing tournament to raise money for the charity.

Willow provides special days for seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40, and is hoping to raise money through their latest event.

The inaugural Catch of the Day event will take place on Saturday, August 3, at St Johns Lake at Linear Fisheries in Oxfordshire, with the support of the charity’s honorary president and former Arsenal goalkeeper, David Seaman.

He will be joined will be joined by other special guests from the world of fishing, including Damian Clarke, Scott Lloyd, Tom Maker and Nigel Botherway.

"As a keen fisherman, it’s an honour to be able to host this event on behalf of Willow," said David. 

"Catch of the Day combines two of my passions – fishing and supporting Willow, an amazing charity which helps create lasting memories for young adults going through a tough time.

"I can’t wait to get down to St Johns Lake with Damian, Scott, Tom, Nigel and some of our incredible supporters."

Alongside some of the biggest names in fishing, guests will have the opportunity to fish in a 24-hour competition to catch the largest carp and catfish, with trophies for the winners.
