Do you live in Hatfield, Potters Bar and surrounding villages, and have you noticed your water tastes different? Here's why.
Affinity Water, which supplies water to 3.8 million homes across the south of England, has announced that its new Sundon water treatment plant is now operational.
This site will now be supplying homes in a number of Hertfordshire locations, including Hatfield, Potters Bar, Knebworth, Tewin, and later this year in Welwyn Garden City.
"You may notice a slight change in the taste and smell of your water, as it’s coming from a different source than you’re familiar with," read a statement from Affinity.
"There’s no need to worry or to contact us about this, your water has been treated to the same high standards set by the Drinking Water Inspectorate and the adjustment is completely normal.
"Your water supply and pressure won’t be affected by these changes, so if you notice a change, it will be an unrelated issue
"This change marks a significant milestone in our commitment to abstract less water from chalk groundwater sources and to protect the unique habitats of chalk streams in our region."
