Plans to build 15 new homes in Kimpton can go ahead after an application was approved last week.

At a meeting last Thursday (September 26), North Herts Council's Planning Control Committee decided to approve proposals for the development in High Street.

The plans, submitted by Oxford University Endowment Management Limited, will see the homes built "on the western edge of the village and is part of a 1.60-acre agricultural field".

"The use of the site will be solely residential," the application continues.

"The site will deliver opportunities across a range of house types, sizes and tenures. This will include housing for sale across a range of prices, including an anticipated five affordable homes.

"The amount of development proposed is 15 new homes, making most efficient use of the site. The development will benefit the wider community by supporting local shops and services in the village."

Permission was granted despite Kimpton residents raising concerns about access and a loss of green space.
