A consultant at Lister Hospital in Stevenage has marked his 1,500th robotic urological surgery.
Professor Nikhil Vasdev, a consultant urological and robotic surgeon, performed his first robotic operation in August 2014.
Urology focuses on the urinary system, which includes the kidneys and bladder, as well as reproductive organs.
Talking about his 1,500th robotic urological surgery, Professor Vasdev said: "I am incredibly grateful for the support of my amazing team and the dedication of my surgical fellows and colleagues, and senior management has been instrumental in achieving this milestone."
Professor Vasdev’s specialist interest is urologic oncology - both clinical and academic. He specialises in robotic prostate and bladder cancer surgery, as well as kidney surgery.
