A new restaurant in North Hertfordshire, offering charcoal grill and seafood dishes, has been licensed to sell alcohol.

Now, you can enjoy a cocktail crafted by skilled mixologists at Unique Bar & Grill in Codicote High Street, or a selection of beer and wine.

Manager Emin Adiguzel said: "Codicote is a small village, and we’ve made a significant investment here.

"Some people have asked why anyone would open a restaurant in such a place, calling us crazy. However, our goal is to provide high-quality, delicious food, and we believe that if we maintain the highest standards in both service and taste, we will be able to attract customers from nearby towns and villages. 

"Our menu is focused on Mediterranean cuisine, offering a blend of Turkish and Greek flavours. We also feature traditional Anatolian dishes, which are rarely found in the UK due to their complexity. Two examples are 'Ali Nazik' and 'Çökertme.'

"From Sunday to Wednesday, we offer a set menu, designed to provide great value by offering generous portions at an affordable price.

"Our two-course set menu is priced at £16.95, and includes unique dishes you won’t find elsewhere. For instance, we serve an authentic 'köfte' that stands apart from the many versions that don’t capture the true taste.

"Another favourite is our lemongrass chicken, which is served with a generous portion of sautéed vegetables, known for their health benefits.

"On Saturdays and Sundays, we also offer brunch from 9am to 2pm. Our brunch menu combines traditional breakfast dishes from around the world with English and American classics, creating unique plates with our own twist.

"We pride ourselves on not using frozen or imported meat. All our meat is sourced from farms in Hertfordshire.

"Our chef, Cuma Usta, has over 30 years of experience in Anatolian and Mediterranean cuisine, and we trust the quality of our meats.

"Since opening [in the summer], we haven’t received a single negative review on platforms like Google or TripAdvisor, which reassures us that we are on the right path. 

"We also offer our own cocktails, and the 'Lemon Cheesecake' cocktail is currently our bestseller. We plan to update our cocktail menu every month to stay innovative and offer our customers something new."
