School was out and the half-term holiday meant the fleet at Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club was reduced in numbers - but there was still plenty of good racing.
Those brave souls who did venture out were also faced with rain but once that stopped, conditions were ideal with the wind blowing straight up and down Stanborough's South Lake.
There was also the sight of Ruth Burr and Ewelina Hoffman in a double-hander, with each sailor having one of the two races at the helm.
Annette Walter was the first boat away in both pursuit races and nobody came close to catching her.
Behind her, Dave Lambert had to storm through the field in the two outings, managing to catch and pass Roger Morse for second on both occasions, just before the hooter sounded the end of the race.
Tony Hale finished behind them in fourth.
