This week's racing was wiped out because of ice and a partly frozen lake but Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club did manage to get some racing in.
A light wind forecast put off many helms but the small fleet that began did at least face a wind that was straight down the lake.
The racing proved to be quite close with Roger Morse beating Dave Lambert into second place after several changes of position.
The tables were turned in race two with Morse pipped by just six seconds.
Mike Caddy was third in both races.
The biggest surprise was that serial winner Annette Walter was no better than fourth, a lap behind the winners.
A spokesman said: "Apparently, it was one of those days. She was late starting the first race because she had to return home and while she started with the others in race two, she quickly fell behind."
