Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club threw a bit of extra fun into their recent races - with an Easter egg regatta.
The Stanborough Lakes-based club threw special prizes into the mix and it brought out the competitive spirit among the fleet, resulting in a three-way tie.
The final decision was that the outcome of race two would split the impasse and that meant that despite taking third place in the first outing, Alan Campbell's emphatic success in the final outing gave him the overall win and the Grand Easter Egg Cup.
The star of the day was again Angelo Hansen who carried off the Petit Silver Easter Egg Cup as first in the slow fleet and the first Junior Egg Cup, as well as all the associated chocolate eggs.
And he would probably have won the big cup as overall winner if he hadn’t missed a mark on the first lap of the first race.
Angelo also tied in second place with his brother Francis in the personal Handicap event which was won by Tony Hale.
Race one was won by the commodore of the club, Charles Adams.
