Garden City Runners are calling in the troops as they prepare for the final rounds of the 2023 Midweek Road Race League.
Round four takes place on Thursday at Fairlands Valley Park in Stevenage with a good performance needed to preserve their Division One status.
Women's captain Hannah Frank said: "It's now or never. We did really well in the last race but we need a full turnout from everyone on Thursday to make the last race really count."
That is followed by the home mob match on Wednesday, July 12, when all three divisions come together at Ridgeway Academy, and race director Tim Cooke has put out an appeal.
He said: "Every contribution of time will help, however small, and there are many ways that you support the race and still run in it.
"Thanks to Barbara Kubis-Labiak and the team at the Welwyn 10k, Garden City Runners members once again proved how well we support each other and what an excellent race host the club is.
"Now we have another opportunity to show the other 20 clubs in the Midweek League what we're made of."
This week's action saw Kubis-Labiak and Johan Preis run the 63k Saltmarsh Ultra, both finishing after eight hours.
It was the first ultra run for Preis and he said: "It was tough going in certain sections on the sea wall due to tall grass and vegetation resulting in uneven footing and trip hazards.
"But overall it was a good experience, with a few lessons learnt about long distance running."
The Ware 10s event saw a PB for Emon Martin in the 10k, clocking 50 minutes 57 seconds, fourth in his V60 age group.
Andy Morgan ran 44:33, James Hall 47:20, James Barker 51:35 and Andrew Pocock in 51:40.
In the 10 mile event, Hiran Fernando ran his first race at the distance in 1:38:16 while Peter Harvey finished fourth overall in 1:02:38.
Thom Buzzard was 10th in 1:06:40 while Carol Reid managed 1:38:15 and Kath Evans 1:59:13.
Another strong turn out by GCRs at Saturday’s parkruns saw 102 members taking part.
At Stevenage, Zoe Stephens was first lady at Stevenage while Andy Holt was seventh overall at Brentwood and Jamie Rose sixth at Tamar Lakes, where Katharine Farrell was fourth lady.
At Panshanger, Dan Pudner was second, Chris Eland fourth, Neil Hume fifth and Joe Ansbro sixth.
Lauren Potter was third lady.
