One of Brookmans Park Golf Club’s major yearly competitions was up for grabs again.
The Presidents Trophy has been contested for annually, apart from the war years, since the formation of the club in 1931.
It attracts all of the club’s leading golfers for the 36-hole event and this year a field of 82 took part.
There were some excellent scores in the competition with prizes not only for the overall winner but also for the best morning and afternoon rounds.
The best morning round, excluding the overall winner, was Andy Craig with a net 68, three under par, and this was matched in the afternoon by Steve Huxley.
The runner up for the overall competition was Daniel Dodd with two excellent rounds of 70 but the overall winner was Shen Hargreaves with a morning round of 71 and an excellent 66 in the afternoon for a total of 137, five-under-par in total.
Cub president Martin Connolly, wearing a period golfing costume, presented the trophy to the winner.
One weekend earlier, the club had hosted the Allan Covington Trophy, a mixed greensome event.
And the top prize, with a net score of 67, went to the husband and wife partnership of Tony and Rosie Williams.
