Knebworth Park remain firmly in the hunt for promotion from Division Two B of the Herts Cricket League after their eighth win of the season.
They won by 75 runs away to Kings Langley to remain third, 18 points behind West Herts.
With Matt Hutchinson injured, Park were under the leadership of their youngest ever captain, 17-year-old Kobe Richmond.
Knebworth had a shaky start, losing an in-form Louis Champion after just three balls, and Haydon Bartlett-Tasker (21) and Charlie Randall (22) seemed to steady the ship before the rain came down causing a delay.
That reduced the match to 48 overs each and when those were over, Knebworth had set a total of 220-8.
A vital partnership saw the new skipper (40) and Rob Morley (28) add 55 runs, as did Alex Richmond (25*) and Dave Roberts (28*) late on.
Knebworth then had a perfect start with the ball as Randall (3-17) got a wicket in the first over.
Kobie Richmond picked up an important wicket with an outstanding one-handed pick up and direct hit run out to leave Langley on 22-4.
The skipper put himself into the attack and got a wicket with his third ball but it needed the spinners of Alex Richmond and Roberts to stem the flow of runs.
It left the batting side well behind the Duckworth Lewis and after a further delay, and re-evaluated target, the home side were all out for 145.
Rain also affected the game for Park's second team against Welwyn Garden City thirds, eventually losing by six wickets.
Park got to 158 before being all out with five overs of the revised 48 remaining.
Adam Sergeant top scored with 74 while there was support from Owen Watkins (22) and Rafael Combarro (21).
Welwyn got off to a bright start and had got to 119-4 when the rain returned, giving them the win by the better run rate.
Knebworth's third team were also beaten by WGC, losing to their fourths.
Dave Mantle, Ryan Hassall and Trent Hildebrandt each took two wickets but a 46 from Zig Dolan got WGC to 145.
Park made steady start against a good bowling attack and had slumped to 79-8 before Dave Mantle thrashed a quick 36.
It was not enough, however, to turn the game and Park fell 13 runs short.
Elsewhere Tewin are third and now four points behind promotion in Division Three B after a 121-run success over Chorleywood.
Alex Portas hit an unbeaten 101 as Tewin got to 218-7 and then 5-27 from Jamie Bryce helped bowl the visitors out for 97.
Datchworth won by nine wickets over Bushey in Division Three A with Tom Vits (58) and Spencer Bayford (46) on form with the bat.
In Division Four A, Hatfield Hyde lost by 32 runs to Hitchin. Chatula Bhagya Fonseka top scored with 49 as well as taking 3-45.
There was good support though from Terence Nobert (46) and Suhail Cader (44).
Hatfield & Crusaders though are up to third after beating Old Haberdashers.
Bentley Heath meanwhile lost by 58 runs in Division Five A against Preston.
