There were four Potters Bar teams in action on the penultimate weekend of the East Hockey League season and some pivotal results too.
The men's first team travelled to Bury St Edmonds and secured a vital 6-2 victory that could easily have been more.
The win takes them out of the bottom four and the relegation places in Division One South with one game remaining and they know that victory at home to bottom of the table Colchester on Saturday will secure their future at the level for another year.
Ed Whybrow got three at Bury and there were two from Simon Tenwick and one for Mark Turpin.
The thirds should clinch the Division Four South West title on the final day when they go to only rivals Hertford.
The home side will need a 22-goal win at least to overturn the deficit.
Bar's latest game saw them beat Broxbourne 6-0 with two goals each from Aryan Walia and Si Kelly and one for Thomas Nafis and James Atkinson.
The seconds struggled in their game away to Division Three champions Broxbourne, losing 4-1.
Their only goal came from Josh Becker.
The Ladies concluded their league season with a dominant 7-0 victory away to Welwyn Garden City fourths.
There were three goals from Chris Field, two from Nicki Hughes and one apiece from Patricia Bruno and Morgan Zwijnen.
