Shire Park Bowls Club (Tewin) are finally up and running in a very special season - their 75th anniversary year.
It was two weeks later than intended due to the weather but they are making up for lost time.
In the first friendly at home to North Mymms, they raced to a 116-75 victory with three wins and one draw from the six rinks played.
The top rink for Shire Park was Alan Watts, Byron Sinfield and Kevin Brazier, who all received top rink anniversary pens for their 27-4 win.
Another victory followed a day later, all four rinks going to Shire Park in a 91-51 success at Potters Bar, the best win this time belonging to Angus Mullin, Linda Draycott and former president of Potters Bar president, John Hastings.
In the external competitions, Gus Edwards won his officers' single match, but Gordon Price lost his.
And in the county fours away to Welwyn & District, Park's Ian Kirsch, Robin Bramson Gus Edwards and Mike Howe lost 27-15.
The club are holding two open days over the bank holiday weekend, the first on Saturday and the second on Monday, both between 10am and 4pm.
A spokesman said: "There is a lot happening at Shire Park in our anniversary season, with new design free shirts and anniversary gift for members, thanks to our generous sponsors.
"There are also special hosted games and an all season massive raffle for everyone to enjoy."
Datchworth had two games in the East Herts League and one in the Welwyn Hatfield.
The Blues beat Sele Farm 42-24 at home in EHBL Division One with both rinks winning.
Dickie Jackson, Jim Smith and Les Parsley had a 21-9 success while six shots on the 14th end helped Graham Akers, Derek Henley and Peter Hills to a 21-15 win.
The Golds were victorious in their Division Two game, beating Ware 34-32 away.
Andy Short, Dave Castle and Terry Metcalf lost the last four ends but still won 16-13 while Ian Green, Keith Smith and Steve Chamberlain triumphed on eight of the last nine ends, including a six on the 13th.
However, two shots dropped on the final end meant they lost 19-18.
The league win treble was completed by a 45-27 victory at Parkside Woods in Division Two of the WHBL.
It was built on a comfortable 21-6 rink win for Janet Akers, Chris Hills and Phil Berry and sealed by a fantastic comeback from Nicki Berry, Julian Hales and Steve Chamberlain as they recovered from an 11-5 deficit after seven ends to win 24-21.
