Garden City Runners celebrated the centenary of Welwyn Garden City with another big club event.
Using the 20.20km centenary route, the challenge saw 72 runners take part in a clockwise running out of Tewinbury Farm.
Each participant started in groups based on their predicted finishing time and Neil Hume was the first to finish, breaking the 90-minute barrier with a time of one hour 29 minutes 25 seconds.
Martin Mitchell was second and Daniel Hudson third.
Kath Evans, Alex Yates, Tendy St Francis and Willow Gibson travelled to Yorkshire to take part in a female-only only ultra, the She Strides 50k.
Evans said: "The 50k route took us through woodlands, ferny glens, waterfalls and open moorland, providing varied breathtaking scenery through Hebden Bridge and Haworth.
"With almost 5,000 foot of climbing, it pushed our endurance and certainly provided us with the thrill of accomplishment.
"All in all, it was a great day on the trails."
Evans finished in 8:14, Yates in 8:30 whole St Francis and Gibson came home together in 11:23.
Nadine Dwyer took part in another challenge, the 10-day Great Barrow Challenge in Suffolk.
She said: "Many of the runners complete the entire series, although it is possible to just run on individual days.
"I took part in five of the daily challenges, running a mix of marathons and half-marathons, but this was my first attempt at consecutive long runs and I really wasn't sure what to expect.
"The heatwave made an already tough task an even tougher test of endurance and resilience.
"My mantra for the week was 'go slow, go far' and it worked.
"This week was such an amazing experience and the support from the organisers, the marshals and the other runners was just brilliant."
Wayne Aylott took part in the Bearbrook 10k in Aylesbury and finished in 1:13.
Nayrobis Valencia Aylott also completed the race in 1:15, a PB in her second 10k.
