The August Bank Holiday Saturday started wet and continued throughout the day - but there was plenty of heat on the bowling green.
A total of 48 lady bowlers from Northaw and Cuffley, North Mymms and Potters Bar converged on N&C Bowls Club to play the annual Harvey Cup fixture.
The teams did have to take a few moments out of the fray as they club was hit by a heavy downpour, and from there it was decided to finish the game after 12 ends instead of the usual 18.
The outcome was a win for North Mymms on three of their four rinks, Potters Bar taking two and hosts Northaw & Cuffley one.
This is the third time in four years that North Mymms have claimed the trophy. Prior to 2021 they had not won it since 1997.
A spokeswoman said: "Thanks go to Northaw & Cuffley for hosting the game and providing a two course meal.
"We look forward to meeting next year at Potters Bar and, hopefully, better bowling weather."
At Potters Bar, the men from the three clubs played for the Jarvis Cup but in their case only two ends were able to be completed due to the rain and the match was abandoned.
