Remember, remember the fifth of November. Gunpowder treason and plot... And where better to celebrate Bonfire Night than at the historic Royal Gunpowder Mills?
Celebrate Bonfire Night in spectacular style as the Royal Gunpowder Mills brings its 2017 season to an end with the Guy Fawkes Festival and Fireworks over the weekend of Saturday, November 4 to Sunday, November 5.
The historic site on the banks of the River Lea will host a weekend packed full of activities for all.
Organisers will tell the famous story of the plot to blow up Parliament in the setting of what was once a real gunpowder factory.
From 2pm onwards there are family fun activities for children of all ages.
A short theatre production, Musket Firing, will take the audience into scenes from the plot.
There are science shows with Professor Nitrate explaining the science of explosions, and a Stuart Foods Experience where visitors can learn all about the Stuarts’ eating habits.
As darkness falls, you can warm up with some hot food from the Gunpowder Cafe and food outlets.
Both days conclude in an amazing fireworks display from Force FX, the company behind the special effects you see in movies, TV and music festivals.
Activities begin at 2pm and the fireworks display starts at 7pm.
Last entry time is at 6.30pm, however this is subject to change due to popularity.
Parking for this event is offered on a first come, first served basis.
Pre-booking your ticket online avoids site entrance queues.
Tickets cost £10.50 adults, £9 concessions, and £8.50 children under-16.
Family tickets are also available.
