Enjoy the music of The Moody Blues in the company of five legendary musicians, singers and songwriters in Hertfordshire next month.
Legend of a Band, a tribute to the English rock band, can be seen on stage at the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar on Thursday, December 1.
The show is described as “an intimate evening of sensational musicianship and iconic songs that define a generation”.
Drummer Gordy Marshall and keyboard player Paul Bliss performed together with The Moody Blues for over 20 years.
Gordy comes straight from 25 years of touring with the band, his last performance with the Moodies being at the Glastonbury Festival.
In addition to touring with The Moody Blues, Paul has written hits for the likes of Olivia Newton-John, Janet Jackson, Uriah Heep, Al Jarreau, Graham Nash and Celine Dion as well as performing and writing for The Hollies for a number of years.
They are joined in this tribute show by current 10cc lead singer Mick Wilson.
As well as being the singer with 10cc, Mick’s incredible vocals have also featured with likes of Lionel Richie, Kylie Minogue and Smokey Robinson.
Guitarist Tim Maple, who has performed with the likes of Leona Lewis and Westlife, plus James Blunt and Joss Stone bass player Malcolm Moore complete the line-up.
Tim’s credits also include Boyzone, Olly Murs, Emma Bunton, Ronan Keating and Beverly Knight.
As well as recording hits with the likes of One Direction and Alison Moyet, Malcolm is a mainstay of many West End musicals including Mamma Mia!, Rent and The Lion King.
He has also toured with Westlife, and acted as musical director for Natalie Imbruglia.
Legend of a Band is a chance to experience performances of classic Moody Blues hits.
Songs featured are the lavish Nights in White Satin, number one hit Go Now and others including Tuesday Afternoon, Legend of a Mind (Timothy Leary’s Dead), I Know You’re Out There Somewhere, Question and Isn’t Life Strange.
Other highlights include a moving performance of Justin Hayward’s Forever Autumn and a show-stealing rendition of Eve of the War from Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds.
The concert is an intriguing insight into the so-called ‘Kings of the Concept album’.
Relive classic, million-selling albums Days of Future Passed, In Search of the Lost Chord, On the Threshold of a Dream, To Our Children’s Children and more.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 8pm, cost £20, and £19 concessions.
