One of the country’s leading modern jazz pianists will be performing in Welwyn Garden City this evening (Sunday).
Gareth Williams’ Glow Quartet plays Herts Jazz Club, at Campus West, tonight.
The pianist tweeted: “Can’t wait - great jazz club.”
A fiery and creative player, Gareth’s remarkable talent has been seen with an impressive array of world-class artists, from jazz/hip hop band Us3 through to internationally-renowned jazz musicians such as Joe Lovano, Jerry Bergonzi, George Coleman and Jim Mullen.
Gareth has been MD for iconic UK vocalist Claire Martin for many years, and in 2013 also won the ‘Best Pianist’ category in the British Jazz Awards.
He will be joined in Welwyn Garden City by Trish Clowes on saxes, Calum Gourlay on bass and Martin France on drums.
Gareth and the award-winning Trish Clowes have worked together a few times in the last year, and recently decided to create a more formal collaboration in the Glow Quartet.
The concert in Screen 2 of the Garden City Cinema / Hawthorne Theatre complex start at 7.30pm.
Advance tickets cost £3 students, £8 members, £10 concessions and £11 full.
Walk-ups are £5 students, £9 members, £12 concessions and £13 full.
