There will be a Spring concert in Welwyn Garden City this Easter weekend to mark the opening of Herts Jazz Club’s new season.
Drummer Bryan Spring brings his trio to Herts Jazz Club on Sunday night.
A spokesman for the club said: “We present a rare treat at Herts Jazz to open our new season.
“Bryan Spring is an outstanding drummer, having been tutored by Philly Joe Jones.
“He emerged in the late 1960s, became Stan Tracey’s regular drummer for many years and also formed a successful association with Don Weller.”
In recent years Bryan has focused more on his trio, releasing The Spirit Of Spring on Trio Records to critical acclaim.
Joining Bryan on Sunday night will be Mark Edwards on piano and Mick Hutton on bass.
The Bryan Spring Trio can be seen in Screen 2 of the Garden City Cinema / Hawthorne Theatre complex at Campus West.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
Advance tickets cost £3 students, £8 members, £10 concessions and £11 full.
Book online at www.hertsjazz.co.uk/gigs.html
On the night, tickets are priced £5 students, £9 members, £12 concessions and £13 full.
